Customer-orientation, short delivery times and high on-time delivery performance are key criteria for long-term market success today. This poses increasing problems for custom made and small batch manufacturers in particular: the growing diversity of parts and increasingly shorter delivery periods with scarce resources can no longer be handled with the outdated, rigid planning methods of conventional PPS/ERP systems.
FELIOS belongs to a new generation of planning systems that are used in addition to existing PPS/ERP systems. It contains novel scheduling procedures that have been specially designed for the requirements of custom made and small batch manufacturers with a wide diversity of products.
