INFORM wins "Intermodal Award 2002" with SyncroTESS

The European Intermodal Association (EIA) presented at the Intermodal Transport & Logistics Conference and Exhibition its award to the Best Intermodal Transport Product. The award was granted to SyncroTESS, a decision-support and optimisation software system developed by INFORM GmbH, of Aachen, Germany. SyncroTESS provides high-level optimisation techniques designed to increase productivity and quality of service while reducing costs and creating completely controlled operational environments. It is currently in use at multiple intermodal hubs, ports and other logistic centres throughout the world.

The Intermodal Transport Product award aims to stimulate groundbreaking intermodal transport solutions and to reward best practice in intermodalism. Members of the jury include representatives of both the European Commission and the European Parliament.
Mrs. Maij Weggen, President of EIA and member of the European Parliament, described SyncroTESS for Intermodal Terminals during the presentation on the 10th December as the trend-setting Terminal Operating System. Mr. Klaus Ebeling, Secretary General of EIA, added during the conference: “We are honoring best intermodal practice with our award. SyncroTESS is definitely a tangible development for intermodal logistics and the rightful winner of the 2002 award.”

Udo Niessen, director of the Logistic Systems Division of INFORM GmbH, said “This award is very gratifying and represents a strong backing for the continuously-improved solutions that we have been building and implementing in the logistics industry over the last 18 years.”
