New Business Unit: “Manufacturing Logistics & Healthcare”

Responding to significant business opportunities for growth, Udo Nießen, director of INFORM’s Logistics business unit, will focus the future scope of his team on optimization systems for intermodal container terminals, logistics hubs, and road transportation. Meanwhile, the “Logistics” business unit will harvest the benefits from major systems developments in 2007 – 2010.  These innovative, highly advanced optimization systems enable large-scale automation of container terminal operations (maritime & hinterland) as well as boosting  productivity for distribution centers and other logistics hub operations, including road trucking.

Therefore, effective 1 July 2010, part of Udo’s team will be re-organized as a separate, new business unit: “Manufacturing Logistics & Healthcare”.  Its newly appointed director is Matthias Berlit, who held various positions with INFORM since 2001. The new business unit provides optimization systems for manufacturing and healthcare related on-site logistics, plus synchronizing inbound and outbound truck transportation. Application sectors include Automotive Logistics, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Shipbuilding, Steel, and General Manufacturing as well as Hospital Logistics.
